This page compiles a list of travelogues from people who have visited North Korea. The writers represent people from various backgrounds, but most are reporters of some sort. These stories, though varying in quality, generally provide some interesting insight into the public image that North Korea presents and how it appears to a visitor. Some, obviously go more in-depth than others in their description of a visit to North Korea. Some of these travelogues are packed with valuable information about how life appears in North Korea, as well as presenting interesting pictures. There is, of course, probably at least some author bias, as the writers are all from Western nations in which North Korea is generally not thought of very highly, but there seems to generally be a maintained effort to remain objective. These travelogues are very important to the thesis because they illustrate a side of North Korea very different from the North Korea seen by escape citizens from whom much information comes from.
